Angry Birds Surpasses 400 million Downloads; Now Wait for the Movie

Gaming aficionados will be familiar with Angry Birds and Rovio, the creator of the popular mobile game.

The Europe-based game developer has revealed impressive popularity figures of Angry Birds at the Web 2.0 Summit 2011.

They claim that the popular game has been downloaded more than 400 million times after its release.

Along with this big number of downloads, they also sold more than 1 million T-shirts and Angry Birds toys in a month.

Stats reveal that the game has 130 million monthly users, 30 million daily active gamers and 300 million minutes of game play each and everyday.

Further, all you Angry Birds fans can now look forward to the introduction of a new bird to the game. The new entrant will be arriving in time for Halloween.

Significantly enough, the game is also being translated to celluloid. Rovio has confirmed that the movie will be produced in partnership with David Maisel, the executive producer of Iron Man 2, Thor and CaptainAmerica.
