Classic Halo Map ‘Hang Em High’ Makes A Return To The Upcoming Halo: Combat Evoled; Kinect Functionality Explained

It’s great to see some of our favorite maps from past games redone in high definition and revamped for the new console generation. 343 Industries is doing just that with the return of one of the best Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer maps, Hang Em High. Yes, this map was remade in the past on Bungie’s Halo 2. That reiteration of the map was okay, but it didn’t not feel like the classic map that we loved from the original Halo. The fan favorite map, now renamed “High Noon” definitely looks like a proper re-imagining and has me even more excited for the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition.

Tagging along with the new map, we’ve finally got some detail on the Kinect functionality of the new title. There will not be any Kinect controlled multiplayer, though it has been added to the single player campaign with the new Analyze Mode. The new mode allows players to scan objects of interest, adding new information to the games new interactive encyclopedia called the Library.

Lastly, the power of voice command has also made it’s way into the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary campaign. Players will be able to “to reload your weapon, throw grenades, switch seamlessly between Classic and Remastered graphics and more, using only your voice.” That sounds cool, but I’m sure pressing the “X” button to reload would be quicker.
