Archos Arnova 8 G2 Coming Soon; Get Yours for $199.99

October 17, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Guys, there’s a G2 tablet coming your way from Archos. No, it’s not the recently announced Arnova 7 G2 or the Arnova 10 G2, but the Arnova 8 G2.

There is no mention of the 8 inch model in the Arnova website, but it had made an FCC appearance a couple of months back.

Now, according to  online retailer J&R, the tablet will be available soon for $199.99.

Let’s have a look at the specs. The Arnova 8 G2 sports an 8 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and processing is provided by a 1GHz processor.

There is 4 GB of storage on board and the tablet will ship with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

It comes with microSD card slot, WiFi, support for Adobe Flash and accelerometer as well according to the online retailer. It is expected to ship with a third party app store called Appslib instead of the Android Market, like other Arnova tablets. You can install an alternate app store as well.

So what do you think? Would you go for this one or another tablet at the same rate? Amazon Kindle Fire probably.
