T-Mobile Branded Samsung Exhibit II 4G Press Images Out in the Open

Last month, a Samsung handset with model number SGH-T679 and T-Mobile-friendly bands hit FCC. You might remember that the device had similarities to the Samsung Galaxy W. Now that device is back, and we have got confirmation that it is indeed the Galaxy W.

The leaked press images that you see below, which come to us courtesy of Pocketnow, show the T679 with T-Mobile branding and it is definitely the Galaxy W smartphone.

For those of you who are curious about the specs of the device, the international Galaxy W features a 3.7-inch display with a resolution of 800×480 and a 1.4 GHz single-core processor.

The device also comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, 720p video capture, VGA front-facing camera for video chats, 1,500 mAh battery, and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS beneath Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

So this new device appears to be the one for those of you who are interested in the Galaxy S II but would prefer a display that’s slightly smaller than the GS II’s 4.52-incher.

But there is more to this story. It appears like the device won’t be called Galaxy W when it hits T-Mobile. Check out the image below (courtesy of TmoNews).

The upcoming device will be dubbed the “Exhibit II 4G”, which will be the successor to the original Exhibit 4G, when it launches.

More info on the device is expected to be available soon. So stay tuned to this space.
