Google Nexus Prime and Android Ice Cream Sandwich Coming on October 18th

The rumors of the release date of Google Nexus Prime are getting more and more specific.

Earlier, we heard the Android Ice Cream Sandwich device will see the light of the day sometime this month. Now, the pointers are on the 18th of October.

Google might unveil their next gen Nexus smartphone along with the next version of the Android platform on October 19th at Hong Kong at 9 am. Guys, that means October 18th 6 pm PDT US time.

Here are the details: The All Things Digital conference featuring Andy Rubin at Hong Kongwill get underway on the 19th. Samsung will be present at the event as well.

All this and some other source lead the guys over at DroidLife to find that the device is likely to arrive that day along with the Ice Cream Sandwich.

Once again, the first Ice Cream Sandwich device is expected to be powered by a dual core TI OMAP 4460 processor or a 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos processor, 1 GB or RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

The device is said to sport a 4.6 inch screen with 1280 x 720 HD resolution. It could also have an 8 megapixel camera on the back, plus a 2 megapixel front facing camera, NFC and LTE connectivity.

There’s no official confirmation from Google, or Samsung, who has said the device will be launched very soon. Let us hope very soon means October 18th.
