October 7, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Gaming freaks will love to hear this. The LG Optimus 3D smartphone will now be able to house the LG 3D Game Converter.

You would remember, the software engine had generated much enthusiasm when it was unveiled at IFA Berlin recently.

We had told you earlier about the LG 3D Game Converter, and it has now come true. LG Optimus 3D owners will now get this software update over-the-air.

The company says that the software will be reaching Europe early this month and will be available in the other regions over the next few weeks.

It is the world’s first software engine for smartphones that converts the Open GL-based 2D games into 3D and allows switching back into 2D at any time.

By activating the installed 3D Game Converter, users can play the 3D version of the Open GL based 2D games that runs in landscape mode.

There are options for users to manually adjust the 3D depth and the vision settings giving the best view. The switching between the 2D and 3D mode of the games can be easily done by flicking the 3D Hot Key switch any time you desire.

To get the LG 3D Game Converter, go directly to the phone’s settings menu and check for software updates and download it through Wi-Fi.

Once you have downloaded it, the converter will be automatically installed in to your LG Optimus 3D. You can also get this update via connecting the device to a PC and run the LG Mobile Support Tool Software.

The company has also announced that they will be offering new software upgrade with more features to enhance their handsets other than the 3D Video Editor, 2D viewing of 3D videos, Dolby Mobile and Automatic 2D video stabilization.

Have you got it already?
