Apple iPhone 4S Sparkles as First Ever Bluetooth 4.0 Smartphone

The Apple iPhone 4S is one device that is garnering all attention, of late. The smartphone, complete with all impressive features, surprised everyone with its dual-mode –  GSM and CDMA.

The company  carefully introduced the new iPhone by incorporating many new features like the iOS 5, iCloud and so on.

Take a look deeper and you will find yet another worthy addition. Apple has installed in the iPhone 4S the new version of Bluetooth – Bluetooth 4.0.
Thus, they have added yet another first by making the 4S become the first ever handset to feature Bluetooth 4.0.

The foremost thing the new addition boasts is low-energy technology.

This new version of Bluetooth will allow  users to connect and transfer data between their devices and accessories or other devices constantly.

Since Bluetooth 4.0 is backward-compatible with all the previous versions, users can even pair their iPhone 4S with the old Bluetooth accessories and devices too.

Now the device manufactures can replace the proprietary sensor technology with the Bluetooth which has become a widely adopted standard.

Being a low energy technology, this will help enhance the battery life of the devices and accessories. In short, the newly-optimized Bluetooth will benefit small battery-operated devices like Nike+ sensors and Fibits which need almost no power.

In the health and fitness area, this application has made things easy so that you can easily transfer the biological details collected form the pedometers, heart rate straps and blood glucose monitors to the phone or PC. It can also be used in standardizing active 3D glasses.

One aspect of concern is that there are not many devices, accessories and supporting apps which can take advantage of this new technology.

Let’s just hope top see more Bluetooth 4.0 compatible devices and the iPhone 4S work together soon.
