TouchPad Pops Up on HP Sales Page Briefly; Priced a Bit Higher

October 4, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

As you already know, HP had sometime ago halted their PC business and had also reduced prices of their tablet. The TouchPad slate enjoyed a price cut and had gone on sale for $99.99 for the 16 GB model in August.

Surprisingly, the 32 GB version of the TouchPad just popped up again on HP’s sales page, though for a brief period. The tablet was spotted with a price tag of $249.99 , but has been pulled.

Those who got to hear about this logged on to the page only to find the ‘Out of Stock” tag on the sales page. The slate was offered before being pulled with a $100 rise.

Along with the 32 GB version, the 16 GB TouchPad was also spotted on the page carrying a price tag of $ 219.99 showing a price rise of $120 price. The 16 GB model is also now ‘out of stock’.

You might remember HP promised more tablets in the coming weeks and months, just after the 16 GB TouchPad price was discounted from $400 to $99.99 and quickly sold out.

In case you haven’t given much attention to the specs earlier, let’s refresh your memory here. The webOS 3.0 tablet sports a 9.7-inch multi-touch display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1.3-megapixel front facing camera.

A 6300 mAh Lithium-polymer battery backs the 725.75 g device which comes with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi, Beats Audio, USB 2.0 and much more.

We are just waiting to see if HP would come again with the TouchPad again, as the notice on the site indicates. What does your gut feel tell you?
