Sony Ericsson has announced that its latest smartphone, the Xperia ray, is now available for sale in the US. The device, which comes equipped with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, is available unlocked with a price tag of $430.

As you might remember, we last heard about the device back in June. The device comes with features such as an 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R technology, a VGA front-facing camera aimed at video chats, and a 3.3 inch Reality Display with a resolution of 854 x 480. The display also features some cool Mobile BRAVIA Engine tech.

You will also get 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot that support cards of up to 32GB (a 4GB card is included in the package), and a 1GHz Scorpion processor. And it will do fine with games and apps since it also features Adreno 205 GPU.

The device is currently available in gold, black, white and pink, and it features an aluminum frame. It can be purchased from the Newegg’s website as well as through other online retailers.

The device definitely won’t win the specs contest because of all the dual core power that is available on the market these days. But the lovely form factor and color options will do it well.

The company has also released a neat little commercial to go along with the device. Check out the video to take a peek at the display run by the high color BRAVIA Engine and HD recording on its cam.
