Diablo 3 Launching Early 2012; Beta Extended

September 23, 2011, By Christian Davis

Blizzard really tried hard to bring Diablo 3 to us this year. Blizzard wanted it, we hoped for it, and we were all trying to convince ourselves that the game would be here in 2011. Though they never made a promise to the fans that we’d see the game this year, their hearts were in the right place. Unfortunately, we won’t be getting Diablo 3 this year and will instead be in our hands early 2012. “With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn’t put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.

I’m sure most of you reading this can agree with that completely. I’d rather Blizzard take as long (but not too long) as possible to bring us the game that we’ve been waiting years for. This does come with some great news though! The Diablo 3 beta has been extended and will accommodate more invitees. You’ll also be able to spend more time on Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Batman: Arkham City, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Uncharted 3, and Gears of War 3 right?

Who out there is in the Diablo 3 beta? Let us know what you think!
