When iPhone rumors come along, they bring with them some amount of charm. The charm oozes out of anticipation of the fifth generation device that the fruity company  has been triggering all through. Until now, all we could hear about the much awaited iPhone were rumors and speculations.

Things seems to have changed – for the better. The latest we hear is an announcement that says that on October 4th  the Cupetino company will bring  to our midst ‘new iPhones’. Though its is a plural used there, we guess it could be the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S  that is gearing up for roll out.

Now, this is much more official. Apple board member and former Vice-President Al Gore has confirmed at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit, that iPhones are coming out next month.

Remember the rumor which spoke of Apple launching an  iPhone other than the iPhone 5, that is the iPhone 4S. This is where the ‘iPhones’ in Al Gore’s statement becomes noteworthy.

It is unusual for an Apple board member to speak about the arrival of Apple devices –  that’s the job of the employees. But, Al Gore has been a pretty influential member of the Apple board and we should not have trouble taking the word of the person associated with Apple, who had helped make the company more environmental friendly and energy efficient.

That being said, it is also believed that Al Gore might have been speaking about the rumored iPhone 4S. But let’s not rule out the possibility that he might have simply made a mistake, or it might have been about something bigger.

What do you think? Is the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S really coming soon?
