Acer Iconia Tab A501 to Hit the US on September 18th; Arriving on AT&T 4G Network

Tablet fans in the US, it’s time to cheer up. You will soon – on September 18th to be precise – have your chance to lay your hands on the Acer’s Iconia Tab A501. The company has decided to ship the long-awaited tablet on the AT&T 4G network. It seems September will be a busy month for AT&T, as more devices will be rolling out in the month. The Acer tablet is one.

The Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet boasts a 10.1-inch multi-touch screen with 1280 x 800 resolutions, a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, dual cameras- a 5-megapixel rear-facing shooter with flash and auto focus and 2-megapixel front snapper for video calling, a full size USB 2.0 port, a micro SDHC slot and micro USB port, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.

The HSPA+ technology provides 4x faster data transmission thereby allowing easy, fast web browsing. It comes with an integrated GeForce that supports gaming, HD video, multi-tasking, digital media play back and other applications.

The chic slate is enclosed within a stylish Alpine Silver Brushed metal aluminum chassis with a glossy finish. The thin portable 1.69-pound device measures 10.24(w) x 6.97(d) x 0.52(h) inches and is apt for your handbag or briefcase.

It comes with two 3260 mAh Li-polymer batteries promising a long back up. It has two options of storage a 16 GB and 32 GB.

The 16 GB model will be available at two prices- $480 off-contract and $330 with a two-year contract. The company is expected to offer an update to Android 3.1 after the tablet starts shipping.
