HP TouchPad Fire Sales May Take Up Last Batch

September 8, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

When HP started to sell all that was left of their TouchPad stock, they faced a lackluster response from the public. But when the company decided to give a huge discount for the tablet, things changed.

More and more customers began placing orders for the TouchPad, which clearly could not be met by the remaining stock. Then, HP decided to produce one last limited batch of the TouchPad tablet. And, it looks like the whole batch will be taken up by the existing demands.

HP has sent out emails saying that they will start shipping the devices in six to eight weeks to only the SMB customers who have placed orders and are yet to receive their shipment. They should get their devices by the end of October.

HP is thought to have enough components left to build at least 100,000 units of its tablet PC and it has not revealed how many yet-to-be-met orders they have received. But it is almost certain that HP will not be able to deliver all of the orders.

After all, you cannot simply let such huge discounts pass you by , right?
