GameStop Now Accepting iOS Device Trade Ins

September 6, 2011, By Christian Davis

Remember when GameStop use to take movie trade ins? Yeah, I barely do too. It didn’t last long since the name was GameStop but the past isn’t stopping them from expanding. According to 9to5Mac, the company will be accepting iOS Devices for trade ins.  The various sources said that GameStop made this announcement at their annual Managers Convention last week in Las Vegas.

So, if you’ve got an old first generation iPod you should be able to trade it in for some dough. However, if this is anything like the usual GameStop trade in value, then you may be better off selling these old iOS devices to some friends or on Craigslist. I mean, who would want to receive only $60 for the original iPad?

It doesn’t make much sense to me, even though the proceeds would go to a game that you may end up reselling to GameStop 4 months later.
