Toshiba Excite Android Slate Spotted at IFA Berlin; Sports Enhanced Properties than the Thrive

As days pass, interesting outings from the IFA venue at Berlin are flowing by the dozens. One exciting piece of info that comes our way is related to Toshiba’s new improved tablet called the Excite. To debut at IFA, the new slate is expected to come with far more enhancements compared with the earlier Toshiba Thrive.

From what we get to know, the Android OS based slate (as in the case of the Thrive)  is believed to be gearing up for arrival sporting an ultra-slim design. It will come with on screen buttons, micro SD, micro USB and mini HDMI ports.

The tablet is expected to be one of the fastest in its category, thanks to the dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor.

A sneak preview of the sleek tablet shows us an enclosed brushed-metal cover finish. A chrome outline with a central groove surrounds the body. From the lone picture we are exposed to, we find a camera at the front and that makes us guess that the Excite would have one more snapper – placed at the rear. No harm in expecting 3G or 4G support for the device, going by the way manufacturers think these days.

The company has also purchased domain names like excitetablet.com and toshibaexcite.com, hinting that the tablet will be soon unveiled.

There are no details from the Japanese company about the pricing or availability of the tablet. The Excite, however, has started keeping tablet fans excited as the debut is almost certain to happen in a short while.
