Latest Gears Of War Trailer Maintains Grim Outlook

September 1, 2011, By Christian Davis

Ever since Gears of War was released in 2006, Epic Game’s made it obvious that the game was going to be an emotional experience for gamers. When the first trailer debuted for the original Gears of War the song ‘Mad World’ was on everyone’s mind for a long, long time. From that point on, the grim end of the world setting has been the theme of choice for all Gears of War trailers, and honestly, it makes sense. You’ve got a plethora of monsters all shapes and sizes that come from underground and take down entire cities. I don’t see any good thing about that.

The latest trailer, “Dust to Dust,”  is a recap of everything that’s happened to our favorite COG soldiers over the years. Of course, it’s accompanied by a slow depressing song that makes you happy that Locust don’t exist. Several of the major story points from the various campaigns are covered in this trailer and it makes me realize how much I really like the Gears of War trilogy.

Gears of War 3 comes out September 20th and that’s just a few weeks away. Check out the final trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.
