HTC Runnymede Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Smartphone Set for the Holidays; Beats Audio-Rich Device to Come with Alluring Specs

If you have already got to play with a HTC device, you should find this alluring. The company is gearing up to introduce a high-end Android smartphone from their stables. Code named Runnymede, we hear the handset could be the first phone to have a combination of HTC specs and Beats Audio.

Details we stumbled upon tell us the smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz single-core MSM8255 processor and runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS. The device would boast a 4.7-inch touch screen with 480 x 800 resolution, 768 MB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, and dual cameras – an 8 megapixel snapper with dual flashes at the rear and a 1.3-megapixel shooter at the front for video chats.

In addition, the handset would sport HTC Sense 3.5 UI, DLNA support, and will come bundled with Beats headphone. The phone will boast a thickness less than 10 mm.

The two notable features are the cameras and sound quality the device would offer. It is believed that the backlit sensor camera comes with a 28 mm wide-angle lens and a focal ratio of f/2.2.

While you wield the camera for shooting video, the shooter can capture 60 frames-per-second that is more than twice that offered by a normal handset. Further, the device promises high quality sound features like SRS Surround, dual microphones and of course perfect sync with the Beats headphone.

The smart features are more than enough to keep HTC fans waiting for the device to arrive. Expected to ship in time for the holidays, we guess we will now have to wait to know what’s on the price tag and on which carrier the Runnymede will come riding on. Watch this space as we go looking for these details.
