Lame: XBLA Won’t Publish Games If They’ve Been On PSN First

August 24, 2011, By Christian Davis

If Microsoft doesn’t have first dibs on a game, you won’t be playing it on their Xbox 360. What gives Microsoft? Do PSN games have cooties or something? Of course, if the game appears on XBLA first (Castle Crashers for example) then other platforms will gladly accept them. No Fat Princess on Xbox? I’ve been waiting for so long.

“We’re a little biased, so obviously we’re going to look to protect our own space as best we can and get exclusivity,” EU Xbox boss Chris Lewis told Eurogamer. “Whilst I can’t be specific about the terms and conditions, you can be very confident we seek to maximize our own advantage to ensure the playing field is even, and certainly plays to our advantage wherever possible.”

It’s not only games that appear first either. If the title has more content on an opposing platform, Microsoft won’t publish.

This is dumb. Really, really dumb. Odds are if the game would sell well, you’d want to have it on your console. That just makes sense to me!

It just hit me that this also means there’s no Dead Nation coming to XBLA either.

Today sucks.
