Samsung Smartphones and Tablets Raring to Go; There are Lots to Look Forward To This Year

August 19, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Sammy has their hands full. Or, it looks like that. We had recently stumbled upon a leak that showed us the phone maker’s road map for the days ahead. As if that wasn’t enough, a slew of phones are waiting to be added to the line of roll outs that is going to happen in the short term.

Going by what we see, a bunch of smartphones and a couple of tablets are part of the Samsung line up waiting to come to our midst this year. If you remember, we had earlier heard the Nexus Prime was being pushed for a fall release so as to take the iPhone 5 head on.

Take a closer look at the list and you would see that the GT-I9250 gearing up for week 48 looks like that one could be the Nexus Prime. But then, the company will have to clarify whether it is indeed is. Let’s wait. In the meantime, I relish the bunch that has been leaked with the week of release mentioned.

Here’s the list that guys at Telefonino managed to reveal. Let’s list the candidates for you here. Take a look.

  • GT-I8150 (Week 40): Android 2.3.3, 3.7-inch 480×800 display, HSDPA network support, 4GB of memory, 1.4GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD recording.
  • GT-B5510 (W41): Android 2.2.2 smartphone with 2.8-inch display, 800MHz processor, QWERTY keyboard, 3MP camera.
  • GT-S5360 (W42): Android 2.3.3, 3-inch screen with 240×320 resolution, 2MP camera.
  • GT-S5610 (W42): Android 2.3.3, 2.4-inch 320×240 display, 5MP camera, 150 MB of internal memory and support for HSDPA networks.
  • GT-I9220 (W43): Android 2.3.3, 4.3-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display, 1.4Ghz dual-core processor and 8MP camera.
  • P6200 (W44): Honeycomb tablet with 7-inch 1024×600 Super AMOLED display, HSDPA support, 3MP rear camera, 2MP front facing.
  • P6210 (W44): Honeycomb tablet, 7-inch 1024×600 Super AMOLED display, WiFi, 3MP rear camera, 2MP front facing.
  • GT-I9210 (W48): Android 2.3.3, 4.5-inch 480×800 Super AMOLED display, supports 4G networks, 16 GB of memory, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and front facing 2MP, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n and 1750 mAh battery.
  • GT-I9250 (W48): Android Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.65-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display, 5MP camera.

That’s quite a lot of devices, isn’t it? We also hear the Samsung labs could also be readying a new smartphone called the I8350 Omnia W for release during the year.

It is expected to run WP7 Mango on a 1GHz CPU, the Omnia W could come with a 3.7-inch display, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi and GPS support.

Now that’s quite a detailed road map. That’s something different from what we have seen earlier, indeed. All we need now is official confirmation at the earliest. Sammy, tell us more!
