We don’t have to tell you Samsung’s laptops are not exactly known for their gaming capabilities. But the company is expecting to rewrite the facts with their new notebook Series 7. Sammy has announced the launch of the 700G7A, (the first in the series), a powerhouse laptop that can also pass for a desktop.

To be initially available on German shores, the focus is right on the gamers and their requirements. Toeing that line, Samsung has upped the capabilities of the device, specs-wise.  The 700G7A features an enormous 17.3 inch LED display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Inside the box, there is a 2 GHz Quad-Core i7 processor, and has a 2 GB Radeon HD 6970M for non- graphical tasks. It also comes with up to 16 GB of RAM, 1.5Tb worth of HDD space backed 8GB of flash memory (Express Cache uses the SDD to store frequently used files for the system to respond faster), a Blu-ray drive, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output, Bluetooth 3.0, and an 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Other features include a 7-in-1 card reader, HD webcam, inbuilt microphone and a 9-cell battery. Another attraction is the backlit keyboard. One notable feature is that the W, A, S and D keys come in red, while the rest are highlighted in blue.

As we mentioned, the 700G7A will be available in Germany bearing a price tag of $2600 (€1800), starting this September. But its availability in the US or elsewhere is not definite yet. Gaming freaks, hope for word to come out on that soon.
