HTC Ruby Renamed Amaze 4G on T-Mobile

You might have heard of the gem that T-Mobile is to carry from HTC – the HTC Ruby. Well, that handset will be bearing the new name of HTC Amaze 4G when T-Mobile flags it.

The phone’s got some cool specs to run around with, so the name might seem to be appropriate. The Ruby, slated to be the flagship mobile, is termed as the big brother to the HTC Sensation, with all the powerful gear inside its covers.

Under the hood, you will find a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM and an HSPA+ radio with connection speeds reaching up to 42Mbps. There is supposed to be an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera, which are to be accompanied by dedicated camera buttons for still and video capture, on the set.

The device is said to feature a 4.3-inch qHD display and some of the usual features like Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and GPS. The Ruby (or the Amaze 4G) is not a myTouch device and will be the first smartphone to run on T-Mobile’s fast HSPA+ network.

The phone is rumored to be out in the market in October, but we haven’t got any confirmation on that. Nor do we have any inkling on the pricing, but since it’s a flagship device, we can assume T-Mobile to strap up a healthy price tag.
