Finally, we have been informed of a launch date for two long-awaited smartphones on T-Mobile. The Samsung Hercules and HTC Ruby smartphones are to be launched on October 26th on the carrier’s network. Going by all we have read to date, the two Android powered smartphones indeed promise a treat to fans waiting to get hold of them.

A leaked internal document that folks at TMoNews managed to spot says the launch date of the two smartphones will happen on the same day. If you remember, the Samsung Hercules was spotted earlier with a September launch date. But then, the delay untill October will be disappointing.

The Samsung Hercules, a variant of Galaxy S II, will come sporting a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED plus screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. The device is powered by a 1.25 GHz dual core Qualcomm processor supported by 1 GB internal RAM and 16 GB internal ROM.

It’s believed to carry dual cameras: an 8 megapixel shooter with 1080p video capture capabilities and a 2 megapixel front facing snapper for video chatting. It boats 32 GB expandable micro-SD memory, NFC support, 42 Mbps HSPA + radio, micro USB transfer for HDMI, and lot more. It can withstand shock and inclement weather.

The HTC Ruby, in the meanwhile, shows a close resemblance with the HTC Sensation 4G design and is believed to come with 3.7 inches of screen real estate. Powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, the smartphone will sport a rear camera with dual LED flash. We hear that the device could have a front facing snapper too.

Sammy and HTC fans in the US can now mark the October 26th date in their calendars. We hope there will be no further delay. Tell us which one are you going for.
