HP Pre 3 Up for Pre-Order in Germany

August 16, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

HP’s Pre 3 was expected to come out this summer. And true to the rumor, it has arrived; but only in Germany.

The device is currently live on HP’s online store for Germany. There is a pre-order page floating in the German net world, and news is on that the shipment will commence within a span of a week or two.

The localized variant comes with a physical QWERTZ keyboard (not the Y, but the Z) and is apparently unlocked. If you don’t remember what the slider packs, here’s a reminder.

A Qualcomm MSM 8×55 CPU running at 1.4GHz rests under the phone’s covers with webOS 2.2 and the same RAM as in the Pre 2 (512Mb). On top you can find a 3.6-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 (a better count than the predecessors).

Other treats include a 5 megapixel camera with AF and LED flash, 720p HD video and a front-facing camera for video calling. Then there’s the usual 801.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, A-GPS, a 1230 mAh battery, HSPA+ and EVDO Rev A.

The device is Touchstone compatible and if you are showing pictures and stuff, the device switches to Exhibition mode. It’s a good deal and in Germany, the device holds a tag for 349 Euros (that’s about $500 for an American citizen).

HP is bringing out two models, a 16 GB version and a 32GB one. But we have to wait a little more longer to touch one, unless you are planning on flying to Germany for the weekend.
