HTC Vigor First Beats Smartphone; Specs Leak

August 13, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The HTC/Beats strategic partnership cannot just stay off the news. On Wednesday, we heard that HTC invested a whopping $300 million to buy a 51% stake in Beats Electronics to create a superior mobile audio experience.

Analysts had welcomed the deal saying this would give the mobile phone brand the youth factor and allow it to reach the music savvy crowd. The latest from the rumor mill is it that HTC Vigor will be the first smartphone to integrate Beats by Dre technology.

As per a leak, the device is said to be similar the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon in size and shape, minus the kickstand. Vigor is said to run on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with the latest 3.5 version of HTC Sense.

It could also come with a Beats logo as a part of the boot up sequence, so you know it is a Beats by Dre device.

The Vigor is going to come with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB onboard storage. It will also feature an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chats.

The next probable HTC device supposedly has a resolution of 4.3-inch 720p HD display with a 1280 x 720 pixels.

There has been no official conformation about the specifications or the launch of the device from HTC. It looks like you will have to wait for it a bit longer. Music-freaks, you seem to have a great deal to look forward to.
