Finding Titles in DC Comics

After downloading the app from the Android Market, agree to the terms of use and then take a look at what is on offer. Across the top of the page you’ll find the current features title, while below this there will be a list of the latest titles, with price ranging from $0.99 to as high as $4.99 for special editions. Most will be standard periodical releases priced at around $1.99.

You should notice the blue bar across the top of the screen – this groups the comic titles into Featured, Just Added and Free. Using these groups you can find titles based on your current budget or interests; a lot of new storylines offer the first issue for free, and this is a great way to build your collection! Above the blue bar, you will see the My Comics, Featured and Store options; My Comics holds a list of titles that you have downloaded, while Store offers a search facility.

Once you have found a title that you want to read, you can then tap it to open its page and view a sample, and use the Buy Now option to download it to your tablet. At this stage you will need to sign in, sop for new users this will mean registering; note that if you have previously used the main ComiXology app, you can sign in with the same account.

Reading a DC Comic

With the comic you wanted downloaded to your tablet, you will be able to start reading it! Simply tap the Read Now! button from the comic title page or open it in the My Comics screen to begin.

You will then be ready to read the title, which you can do by swiping right to left or tapping the edges of the screen to proceed through the pages. This page view is useful, but not ideal for all readers, however, so the app features a useful way of enjoying the comic in a way that is closer to the action. To access this, tap the menu button and then open Reading Preferences. Here you can select the type of transitions between panels as well as whether to display a letterbox around them.

Using this great app you can enjoy a world of top comic titles from the comfort of your Android tablet!
