More 3DS Price Drops Happening

August 10, 2011, By Christian Davis

It wasn’t long after the $249 3D handheld saw a pretty hefty price drop. It sold out in Japan and sold considerably well in the states, hitting 830,000 after just 5 months of release. Perhaps the price tag was just too steep for some even though it didn’t seem like it. The price cut still doesn’t make it’s way through all our favorite retailers until August 12 but  the price just has been slashed at Target and Walmart already.

Nintendo’s official price drop doesn’t officially happen until August 12 but the early adopters will no doubt get a sizable sales increase on the handheld being that it’s given a 40% price deduction.

There is still time however for those who want to receive the 20 free downloadable games. You have until August 11th to purchase the 3DS to still be considered an early adopter. You have one more day to decide on whether you’ll be getting the discounted handheld.

We’ve compiled a list of the free titles below in case you forgot:

  • Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Metroid Fusion
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Balloon Fight
  • Ice Climbers
  • The Legend of Zelda
