GameFly Adding “Unlimited PC Play” This Holiday

August 9, 2011, By Christian Davis

A new digital client from Gamefly is coming this holiday season and it comes with a new “unlimited PC Play” service. Allowing subscribers to download and play any PC and Mac games they have available for, yes, an unlimited amount of time. This is only possible because of Gamefly’s acquisition of IGN’s Direct2Drive service.

GameFly co-founder Sean Spector told Joystiq that the company is talking to publishers now but none have been announced as of yet. The beta for the “Unlimited PC Play” will have over 100 titles at the start and by the time the holiday release comes around, there should be several hundred titles.

The closed beta will launch on September 8th at a Los Angeles event where attendees will receive a beta code for themselves and a friend. If you happen to not live in the LA area, you can still gain access to the beta by accessing the beta section of their site.

This service is similar to Gametap, but perhaps a more updated one with newer titles.
