HTC Ruby Picture Leaks; Smartphone Heading for T-Mobile

August 8, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Looks like T-Mobile has quite a few charmers up their sleeve. Soon after we heard of the Hercules variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II set to arrive riding the network, we have been provided with hints of a new smartphone waiting to climb on for a T-Mo ride. This time around, the manufacturer is HTC and the device is called the Ruby.

A picture – though not too sharp as we would have expected it to be – has tumbled out of the labs and gives us details of what it would be like. We reckon it to be the T-Mobile HTC Ruby, thanks to a blurred reflection of the HTC and T-Mobile logos engraved on the device.

Likely to come as a mid-range offering from the HTC stables, the Ruby evokes comparisons with the HTC Sensation 4G at least on the design part.  A 3.7-inch screen (could be bigger too), dual-core 1.2 Ghz processor (remember Sensation and myTouch 4G Slide too sported that). But then, if it is going to be a mid-range device as mentioned earlier, the processor could be a 1 Ghz CPU too.

Going by what we see in the picture, the Ruby might come with a front facing camera. If you would remember, earlier leaks had hinted at a rear camera with dual LED flash. That too makes us think this could be high-end and not a mid-range device as we were made to believe.

The Ruby may be seen as one among the many devices that HTC is planning to roll out this year. We are now waiting to get a feel of the other siblings too. Stay tuned as we go hunting for more.
