BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 in the UK on August 12th

By the end of next week, on August 12th to be precise, RIM fans in the United Kingdom will get to play with the device they have been waiting for. The new BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, will start with a selling price of £31 and will arrive on the Vodafone network.

If you are one of those customers waiting to lay your hands on the device, here’s something you would want to know. The offer price of £31 a month will bring to you the smartphone for free on a 24 month contract. You also get 300 minutes “anytime, unlimited texts and 500 MB Blackberry Data.

The device, which succeeds the popular BlackBerry Bold 9780, has been made even more beautiful with a premium brushed metal coat so as to lure more customers to the retailers where the phone will sell.  We hear Carphone Warehouse is one vendor to look out for. The retailer has already begun pre-order for the device.

The phone comes with a QWERTY keyboard, a brilliant new high-resolution touchscreen and is powered by BlackBerry 7 OS. RIM has also said that the device would enable 40% faster web browsing, thanks to “the most powerful engine ever in a BlackBerry smartphone”.
