Would you like to play with a new Sony Ericsson device that will boast glasses-free 3D capabilities? Looks like you might soon get one such device in your hands. Speculations that hint at a 3D smartphone in the works at Sony Ericsson’s labs are gaining momentum.

Though no picture of the upcoming device has been made available, the grapevine seems to be strongly vouching for the device. From what we hear, the upcoming device will sport a large 4.7 inch multi-touch display that will feature 3D capabilities – without the need for a pair of 3D glasses.

The display will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, bringing in capabilities that will allow displaying HD video in 720p.

Mention of the 4.7 inch multi-touch display brings to our mind thoughts as to whether the smartphone will be smarter enough to battle the slates that are currently around.

We are indeed thrilled and are waiting in anticipation to see such a large screen size on Sony’s next. We just hope it fits our pocket!

The Android device, is expected to be positioned on the same platform as the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D. HTC and LG thereby seem to have some fierce rivalry coming up, right?

We are just waiting to hear what the device would hold in its innards. Tells us what you expect from this glasses-free 3D offering with a huge display from the Sony Ericsson stables.
