iPhone 5 Has a Battle Waiting; Mango Phone Makers Ready to Take On Apple

July 29, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It was just a day ago we had told you that the Apple iPhone 5 will most probably arrive in our midst by the second week of September. Though the piece of info falls under the rumor category, it seems rival phone makers are all geared up to face the situation in a fitting manner.

In their bid to beat the iOS phone hands down, phone makers such as HTC, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics are all fast readying their smart devices that would run the much spoken about Microsoft Mango platform.

The companies hope that the Mango devices will have the capability to take the iPhone 5 head on. The Mango smartphones are also expected to come by around the same time as the iPhone 5. That in effect means that we might have a tough time deciding on which one to go for this September.

Besides HTC, Samsung and LG, there are also other vendors who are gearing up to push out of their labs their Mango phones. The names being spoken about include Acer, ZTE and Fujitsu Toshiba. Fujitsu Toshiba is already ready with their device, as you already know. If you would remember, these phone makers had been at the recent Microsoft’s 2011 Worldwide Partner Conference making us believe that their Mango phones were in the works.

Come October, Finnish giant Nokia would bring to the market their first mango phone when the Nokia World 2011 gets underway. Meanwhile, HTC’s Mango smart phones will come with Qualcomm 1.5GHz single-core CPUs and would have display sizes ranging from 3.8- to 4.7-inch.

Fujitsu Toshiba, as we mentioned, has already pushed out their IS12T Mango device  with Qualcomm MSM 8655 processor, 3.7-inch touch screen and 13.2-megapixel camera.

Apple seems to have a battlefield waiting, when the iPhone 5 finally arrives. Look forward to seeing sparks fly on the smartphone terrain this September. Who are you going with?
