RIM Tweets New Devices Sporting BlackBerry 7

Research in Motion is coming out with new devices. This is in addition to the BlackBerry 9900 and 9930 that were said to be in the works earlier.

The company made it official by tweeting it from their Twitter account. But they didn’t refer to any specific model, except that the devices will be sporting the new OS, BlackBerry 7.

Since we have lately been hearing tid-bits about some RIM models, I think its safe to say that at least a few of these will make it to the front, like the BlackBerry Torch 9860 and 9850. The BlackBerry Torch 2 is another device which I think we might get firsthand information on.

As for the Bold 9900 and 9930 models, we know that the former is looking to ride T-Mobile while the latter might get to have Verizon as the carrier. We hope that RIM might announce the release dates and other specifics instead of the usual proclamations of ‘coming soon’ and stuff.

We have been hearing a lot of news from the RIM bucket lately, that an official declaration will help a lot of users waiting for the new releases. What do you reckon RIM’s tweet implies? Release date, specifications or just another banner?
