Samsung Galaxy 3D Rumored for Production

July 25, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Samsung seems to have caught the 3D fever too. The rumor mill is on full swing with the new 3D smartphone that’s allegedly under the company’s covers.

The South Korean consumer electronics giant might be following in the footsteps of HTC (HTC Evo 3D) and LG (LG Optimus 3D). Samsung might be planning to name the device as “Samsung Galaxy 3D”.

We have no details regarding the handset and the company hasn’t offered any comments. But that doesn’t stop the speculations from flowing in.

The device is likely to feature glasses-free 3D display and might pack 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor. Samsung will most probably fit a 4.3-inch 3D LCD screen and we might find the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its OS.

An additional special feature is expected in the device. Samsung’s 3D product might be capable of outputting 3D content through HDMI to 3D capable televisions.

Since the ability to share 3D media is limited, the device’s feature will make sharing 3D content and transferring it to online sources much easier. This in turn will contribute to the handset’s popularity.

Rear and front cameras that can be used for 3D photography are to be expected in a 3D device. For the rest of the features, we might have to wait a few more days.

If the device is on Samsung’s to-do list, then we can expect it to give competition to other phones currently strutting in the market. What do you think of this rumor?
