Chinese Couple Sells Their Children to Play Online Games

A young Chinese couple in Dongguan, China has sold all three of their children to fund their online gaming addiction at internet cafes. The couple, Li Lin and Li Juan met at an internet cafe back in 2007 and shared a special bond over their obsession for online gaming.

These parents started having children before they both reached the age of 21 and immediately started neglecting their children for their online gaming addiction. Just a few days after their child’s birth Li Lin and Li Juan left him alone at home so they can resume their lives at the internet cafe. In 2009 they had a  second child and came up with the idea to sell her for money to fund their videogame addiction.

They sold their baby daughter for less than $500. They then proceeded to sell their first child for ten times as much and ended up receiving around $4,600. When their third child arrived they sold him for around the same price.

They were finally turned in to the authorities when Li Lin’s mother found out what her son and girlfriend had done. When authorities asked if Li Lin and Li Juan missed their children they simply replied, ” We didn’t want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money.”
