July 20, 2011, By Christian Davis

Finally, a large chunk of the rumors can finally stop. Today, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was announced and it brings a lot to the game and changes a lot too. If you’ve wanted some drastic changes to how Marvel vs Capcom 3 played, the ‘Ultimate’ installment will more than likely remedy you.

First, the price of Ultimate Marvel 3 will only cost you $39.99. Same pricing they did when Super Street Fighter IV was released. What else is different? Quite a bit actually. They’ve increased the roster on the disc to 48 characters; with the addition of DLC it will bring the total to 50.

New fighters have also made their way into the game as well. Ghost Rider, Strider, Hawkeye and Firebrand are the only ones announced thus far. There will be a total of 12 new characters, so now brand new rumors can start about who the other 8 will be.

With new characters and even a new look, tagging along are internal tweaks as well. The game has been re-balanced which hopefully includes character buffs, character nerfs, and easier ways to defeat Dark Phoenix.

New modes have also been added. Not all have been released, but Capcom did wise up and include Spectator Mode during online multiplayer–which is also be tweaked.

If you’ve waited to get your hands on the latest Marvel and Capcom fighting game crossover,  you’ll only have to wait until November of this year before the game is released. If you pre-order from Gamestop, you even get the ‘Femme Fatale’ pack (shown below) which gives Trish, Chun-Li, X-23, and Storm new costumes. According to Evenhubs, there will also be costumes packs for Strider, Dr. Dooom, Sentinel, and Akuma from Amazon as well.
