4 Player Co-op for Darksiders 3

Darksiders 2 won’t be in stores until 2012 but Vigil Games is teasing that Darksiders 3 will have four player co-op. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse controlled by three of you friends sounds like a game we can’t pass up.

Jay Fitzloff, Vigil’s studio marketing manager had a short talk with Videogamer.com to discuss Darksiders 3.

“We’re trying to flesh out the story of Darksiders II, we were saying we want to establish it so – fingers crossed, Darksiders III – we don’t have to explain a lot of stuff,” said Fitzloff. “We have this world set up and it makes sense to the player, and he knows the setting.”

Fitzloff added that “the dream from the beginning, for Darksiders one, was to have all four horseman at once, but you’ve got to create animations for every character, and each one is a totally different size and has totally different equipment, so you can’t just share equipment.”

He concluded: “What’s next? We’ll see, our ultimate ambition? All four horsemen together. We’ll see.”

Darksiders 2 has you play as The Horseman of Death who is seeking to redeem what his brother War had done to Earth in the original Darksiders. It’s going to be interesting to see what becomes of Death and War in Darksiders 2 and how Pestilence and Famine will be introduced in Darksiders 3 or possibly at the end of Darksiders 2.
