Verizon Motorola Xoom Android 3.2 Honeycomb Update Coming Soon; Roll Out in Phases

July 15, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Verizon customers of the Motorola Xoom will soon get what they have been waiting for long. The promised Android 3.2 Honeycomb update is all geared up to land on your devices during the coming weeks itself. That means impressive aspects that you have always wanted on your Xooms will thereby reach your fingertips in a short while from now.

A company tweet has confirmed the arrival of the update by way of a tweet. In case you wonder as to what all the update will bring to your Moto device, we think the most impressive of the lot would be the new viewing mode called “Zoom to Fill.” As per what we know, this feature would increase the size of phone apps to work well on the larger 10.1-inch display.

This apart, the new update will also activate the microSD card slot in your Xoom. Hope you have noticed that the microSD card slot in your tablet had been idle right from the beginning. Get set to see it go live from now on.

The 3.2 upgrade is expected to be more beneficial to owners of the 7-inch variant of the tablet. For, the current devices have under the hood only the phone optimized version of the OS. From now on the OS optimized for the screen size will come unto them.

So, gear up for the update, which will be offered in stages. This, we understand, would be because the update is now ready only for the WiFi only version. The phased roll out will make all you Xoom owners happy, for sure.
