Apple iPhone 5 Arrival Likely by Mid-August; UK Job Listing Makes Us Believe So

July 14, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Apple’s iPhone 5 has been in our midst a hundred times thanks to the rumors that brought in many features that the device would carry along with it. Speculations on the date of arrival have also been doing the rounds. It seems like the iPhone 5 is all set for a mid-August roll-out, and it is a job posting on a UK recruiting site that makes us believe so.

If you head over to recruiting site Reed, you will find a job posting that calls for full-time iPhone sales workers in Newcastle Upon Tyne with experience who would provide demos at the store and otherwise help drive traffic. The ad goes thus:

“Our client, Apple, one of the largest consumer electronic hardware and software companies in the world, are seeking full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16th August – 29th October within key retail stores.”

Now that is something solid, right.  If the phone isn’t ready, there wouldn’t have been the need for such an advertisement, right?

It is a known fact that Apple tends to go in for an extra number of staff when a product launch nears. And, Cupertino has always preferred to stay silent and secretive when they do that.

Going by what we see, it seems Apple has hired recruitment agency Gekko Ltd to complete the new recruiting process. Gekko, in case you wonder, isn’t an outsider.

The recruiting company has already worked with Apple in the past on shops within shops. Gekko has – via the job listing – told job aspirants that the job pays a very respectable £75 ($121) per day.

It seems Apple is ready. The arrival of the iPhone 5 is almost sure to happen this August by around the 16th, much ahead of the September date speculated earlier. If Apple is ready, we are ready too. Bring it on, Cupertino!
