Samsung Readying Nexus 3 Android Ice Cream Sandwich Smartphone; Tweet Reveals

July 12, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Tweets can be just tweets. They can be harbingers of something huge too! The latest tweets that are taking over the tech press are something that would fall under the latter category. For, they tell us something big. Okay, we know you are curious to know what we mean. Tweets have let us know that the next Nexus phone (let us call it Nexus 3) will also come from the Samsung stables.

If you have been tracking the Nexus journey, you would be aware that almost all Android phone makers have been given an opportunity to create a flagship Android device. Samsung had already made one, but this time around, it seems the mandate is on Sammy to make the next one too.

The tweets that reveal the info comes courtesy of Samsung Romania. Going by what guys at Phandroid say, the tweets (translated below) in the Romanian tongue reveal that the next Nexus is in the works at Samsung and that the production of the phone should be starting soon and it will probably launch late 2011.

So what would you wish to have within the device when it actually rolls out? From the little info we have, we guess the next Nexus will run Android 4.0 Android Ice Cream Sandwich. That’s amazing, right? Further, the phone will boast of a 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED HD display. More info on the specs is being awaited.

Whatever the specs will be, the news of the next Nexus excites us big time. Don’t you think this is amazing stuff? Sammy, we all are waiting.
