Sprint to not Carry Pre3

July 11, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It seems the HP Pre3 is out to break the hearts of many a WebOS lover. Rumors currently on the move cry out that the Sprint network may not be carrying the handset.Which, some take as the phone never to reach the market.

But there are contradicting speculations of the HP device riding on Verizon and AT&T. but these again, we should say, are hopes of dedicated Pre3 lovers.

It all burns down to a crumb of news we heard; that, apparently, Sprint is dissatisfied with Pre3. The company, it seems, is taken in by the Evo 4G and is currently not doting on its other product.

According to the not-so-subtle comments of Sprint CFO Robert Brust,
“The Pre was for people who didn’t really want the iPhone. But the EVO is a phone that people can get instead of the iPhone. We were in the distance last year and now we’re catching up.”

Going by that, other webOS devices too might not be making their way over to Sprint. Sprint and Palm partnership didn’t come off quite as well as Sprint would have liked and the Pre3, after launch, didn’t take off as hoped.

HP would be satiated with any carrier for their device, and if as rumored Verizon and AT&T will carry Pre3, HP ought not to get too worried. It would be a hard choice for fans to make: platform or carrier.

But we think that day is still far off as we have no notion on when Pre3 will be available.
