MSI WindPad 110W Pre-Orders Begin; Tablet to Surface on August 1st

MSI’s latest WindPad 110W is ready for pre-order. The tablet will start shipping only on the 1st of August.

The 10″ Windows-powered tablet powers an AMD Z-01 processor, which is a 1 GHz dual core chip with Radeon HD 6250 graphics and a TDP of 5.9 watts. This should give the slate better graphical performance than the tablets with Intel Atom chips.

The Taiwanese computer manufacturer has put up a capacitive touchscreen display at 1,280 x 800 resolution. In addition, it’s got a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 1 megapixel front camera for video calls.

It also sports an HDMI, USB, and headphone ports as well as an SD card slot, a G-sensor and a light sensor. For network connectivity, it packs WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

The tablet’s storage section is said to be secure on having a 32GB SSD as well as a 4GB RAM. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium but you won’t find a digitizer or digital pen with the tab, so you might find the windows a tad unfriendly on the touch side, unlike other tablet OS.

The MSI WindPad 110w has a 2 cell, 4200mAh battery, which is not so bad for a tablet. The slate measures 10.7″ x 7.2″ x 0.6″ and weighs around 1.9 pounds.

It might look expensive with a tag of $599, but the tablet’s specifications should make it worthwhile. If you can’t wait till the 1st of August, then pre-order yours now and tell us how the slate’s like.
