Acer Iconia Tab A500 Gets Android 3.1 Update in Germany; US Will Have to Wait

Germany, this is for you! If you guys out there in Deutsche land are proud owners of the Acer Iconia Tab A500, here is something that could add to your excitement. Acer is rolling out rolling out an Android 3.1 update for owners of the Iconia Tab A500. Doesn’t that sound so good?

Considering that tablets sporting Android 3.1 OS are rare, this update could have the potential to take the Iconia Tab A500 to higher levels in popularity. The many tablets we see around us flaunt the tablet-specific Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

The 10-inch Acer Iconia Tab A500 had initially shipped with Android 3.0. The Android 3.1 update was in the offing when unofficial leaks filled web space. Now that the official roll out is being kicked off, you do have reasons to smile – indeed.

Now with the official Android 3.1 version rolling out on to the Iconia Tab A500, we are sure owners in Germany could be enthusiastic about owning an Acer device. However, our friends in the US may have to wait, as Acer hasn’t yet revealed as to when their slates will get the update.

With Acer Germany officials going all out on Facebook to tell their countrymen about the new update, it seems certain that most of the Acer Iconia tab A500 owners will be going for it.

The roll out is being done in phases. So if you are not among the first to get it, don’t panic, as every one is going to get the update without much delay.
