Apple Ups Wintek iPad and iPhone Touch Panel Orders

We are going to see a lot more of Apple these coming days. The latest we get to hear about the company relates to Cupertino’s move on increasing their order placed with Wintek for iPad and iPhone touch panels.

Devices like the iPhone, according to Digitimes, have grown to reach around 2.4 million to 2.6 million units each month between April and June. Wintek is one of the largest contributors of Apple’s touchscreen panels and if Apple is cranking up the order, then Wintek may land revenues between $41.5 million and $51.9 million.

Apple is getting ready for the launch of their next iPhone in September, and usually, during a new release, the company holds back the production of their old devices and stalls shipments.

In such a scenario, if the current rumors hold true, we might see the company hold shipments or may be even pump them up a little. We hear that the iPad shipments are perched for a high climb.

In contrast, RIM has had off days so far. RIM’s Blackberry shipments have experienced a drastic fall this quarter of the year, and they are expected to continue with their ill fortune this summer. If that happens, Apple will have a larger ground to play.
