Nokia N950 Dissected for FCC; Sliced Open Phone Images Out in the Open

If you were a developer for Nokia, then you could have had your own N950 devkit. Yeah, that’s right. Nokia ripped open their latest production, over for inquest by the FCC.

The sibling to Nokia N9 is rumored to have 12 megapixel camera as opposed to what was previously reported to be an 8 megapixel snapper. It has a BL-4D battery, which doesn’t carry as much power as that of the N9.

This landscape QWERTY keyboard device runs on MeeGo OS, packs a Gigahertz processor and other regular smartphone standard specs. The device comes cased in an aluminium body as opposed to the polycarbonate unibody that the N9 is offered in.

Images of the phone, sliced open, have been released and the screenshots look something akin to a dismantled chassis. The external images are available too and the phone – of course- does look slick.

As of now, the handset is not available to the public. But you could get your hands on one, if you are seriously interested in developing apps for the Nokia N9 and MeeGo handsets in general. Head here and you will be told how to apply for your free devkit.
