Motorola Droid Bionic Coming this Summer, or Never

June 23, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Keep your fingers crossed, guys! For, Motorola’s promise of a Droid Bionic is still in the air.  The much awaited phone is speculated to be on route for a summer release. We still don’t have much info regarding the upcoming phone and there are rumors of it not being the device that we all are looking forward to. Amidst the entire wagering that the Bionic doesn’t exist, Motorola’s recent tweet does give an assurance of a phone of Bionic merit.

The company developed the original Droid in 2009. The award winning device, and one of the most successful smartphones launched, was then followed by the Droid X, Droid 2 Global, and Droid Pro. We are expecting the Droid Bionic to have those same award winning features and if so, it is sure to be one of the best 4G LTE devices that is to hit the market.

If the upcoming device is a successor of Motorola’s previous Droid series, then it might be powered by a1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H Dual Core processor, on an Android platform, along with 1GB DDR2 RAM. This is all pure speculation though. We have no inkling on what Motorola will be offering, until it hits the market.

From what we have heard, Motorola Mobility is teaming with Verizon Wireless to bring out a device with expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor. With smartphones from all ranges ruling the market, we have to wait and see whether the Bionic will rise…or not.
