Motorola Droid 3 on China Jaunt; Maker Calls it a Mobile Powerhouse

China, here comes something that has all in it to make you dance! The latest and most advanced member of the powerful Milestone series, the Droid 3 (coded XT883), was introduced by Motorola Mobility at China Telecom’s CDMA Summit and 2011 e-Surfing 3G Handset Trade Fair.

The device has been termed by the manufacturer as a mobile powerhouse hosting many an exemplary feature. It would be also known as Milestone 3. Let’s check out what it offers for the Chinese folks.

The device has got powerful dual-core processor, the foremost significant spec to mention. The product is said to be twice as fast as the average single-core processors available in the industry today.

One major advantage of this is that it allows simultaneous operations, such as surfing the web, streaming the video, running different apps, e-mails etc without much delay. Another unique feature is the provision of number row on the top of the QWERTY keypad, enabling fast typing and texting.

The other features include 4-inch touchscreen with qHD (540 x 960) resolution, an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash as well as up to 32GB of built-in storage.

A front-facing camera meant for video chat has also been thrown in. The XT883 would ship with Android 2.3 OS, and showcases more enhanced security features as well.

The launch of Droid 3 is considered as a breakthrough for China Telecom’s partnership with Motorola. The device will hit China this summer. It will be available from authorized Motorola resellers and China Telecom’s stores by the 3rd quarter of this year.
