We know all you Sony fans out there have been waiting to lay your hands on the slates that the company has been readying for you. Sony is said to be making moves to get the tablet devices released by the end of September – but the roll out is to happen in the UK initially.
The manufacturer’s marketing group has mentioned the possible date to folks at Engadget, but they haven’t is revealed much on that. They have just mentioned that an unnamed tablet device would be released late September. However, our gut feel tells us that it would not be one device but two that will be available for pre-orders starting this August. What we believe is that Sony has the S1 and S2 tablets ready for launch.
The manufacturer has claimed that the upcoming devices would compete with the Apple iPad and would come with unique features. We do not understand why the company is keeping everything under wraps and being so secretive.
The company could even run out of time by just teasing the device – as we mentioned already, we expect the devices to be made available for pre-orders this August.
The Sony S1 and S2 tablets come running Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and boast of Sony Qriocity music features. Above all, both the devices are PlayStation certified. While the S1 has got more of the traditional design and aspects, the S2 is something unique. You can have a feel of what the tablets would be like by looking at our earlier report on the slates.
We will tell you more on that when we get our hands on some good info on the S2. Meanwhile, let us also add there is no word yet on when the tablets will come to US shores.
