When it comes to discussions on Toshiba, it is a given that it would have stuff that excite. The Japanese major’s Android tablet christened Thrive has been ruling headlines for quite a while now. The company has been engaged in addressing user needs and demands for the tablet and also promises that the new device will definitely stand out amidst the other Android slates already ruling the industry. The company even says that Thrive would make it to the top three in the tablet market.

Is this Honeycomb slate one awesome charmer of a device? Also, can it compete with the other host of similar tabs? We have for you a demo video of the device, so that you can check out yourself to see what makes the manufacturer nurse high hopes.

Thrive, on its physical appearance looks like any other tablet of 10 inches, but with a high resolution of 1280 X 800 display and even brilliant HD. It has got a dual-core Tegra 2 processor. Front and rear-facing cameras add to the charm. As we already mentioned, it runs Android OS.

One significant aspect we spotted on this device is the presence of a number of full-sized expansion ports and options, unlike other similar tabs. The proprietary dock connector in the bottom in landscape mode works with a multimedia dock or a charging dock. There is also a multimedia optional accessory which enables to connect with a keyboard or mouse and use it as an ordinary computer.

Toshiba will be making their Thrive Android tablet available for US pre-orders starting June 13th. The 8 GB WiFi-only version will cost $429.99 and you will have to pay $579.99 for a 32 GB variant.
