Apple iPhone 4 Available for $147; Head for Walmart Now

June 7, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Even as all the talk over the past few hours was on Apple’s new roll outs, retailer Walmart has gone ahead and tread on enticing terrain by starting to sell the iPhone 4 for a price of $147. As you can see, the 16GB version’s price has been slashed by the retailer making it $52 less than the actual price at which the device is being sold by Apple and the wireless carriers.

The iPhone 4 at this price is available at select Walmart retail stores. The new pricing offer is valid until the end of this month. However, before you get excited, let also tell you, the device is already sold out on the online store! May be more devices will be put in the racks. Both the A&T and Verizon versions of the iPhone 4 are available for this price at Walmart. The deal, by all means, may be considered the best opportunity for those who are dying to get their hands on a new iPhone 4.

It appears that Walmart is in a way trying to help Apple to clear out some iPhone 4 stock since the iPhone 5 would get launched during this fall. Apple some time ago announced at the WWDC 2011 event that the new version of Apple’s mobile operating system iOS 5 will be launching this fall. It is expected to get featured on the next version of iPhone.

The iPhone 4 will be able to run iOS 5, but there would certainly be features and apps reserved exclusively for the latest generation iPhone. So those who want to buy a new iPhone are advised to wait for the iPhone 5, rather than going for the new iPhone 4 deal. It’s up to you, though.
