It’s Acer’s cheers to all the US fans. They have started bringing in their 2011 TimelineX ultra portable laptops to the American shores and have refreshed them with Sandy Bridge processors. The machine comes in three variants, a 13.1-inch 3830T, 14-inch 4830, and 15.6-inch 5830T. All the three options come with a two-tone aluminum design.

Of course, the 13-inch model weighs the least at 4.12 pounds and is not more than 1.15 inches thick, where as the 4830T and 5830T weigh 4.88 pounds and 5.6 pounds respectively.

Acer hasn’t bestowed all their blessings to their 13-inch model, while the 14-inch and 15.6-inch versions are offered with onboard optical drives and number pads. Select models also have a Nvidia GeForce GT520M or GT540M card dedicated video to push gaming while keeping battery life intact using the Optimus switching, at up to eight hours when the faster video is running.

The features that remain the same in all the versions are the 1366 x 768 screen resolution, Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio, and the second-generation Intel Core i5 and i3 processors with turbo boost.

Something to be noted here is that, Acer has been silent on what speeds their systems can produce starting from the Core i3 and Intel video, extending up to the Core i5 and GeForce video later.

A USB 3.0 port allows the laptops to connect to high-sped external storage devices and other components. The pricing starts at $599.99 in US.

The models are now available in the US as well as Europe. Which one are you going for?
